WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's tennis team will kick-off spring action this weekend traveling to the Sherwood Collegiate Cup at the Sherwood Country Club in Los Angeles, Calif. Four players will make the trip for the Bears, No. 1 ranked Lars Poerschke, Vladimir Portnov, Matija Zgaga and Jon Reckewey.
The tournament boasts a strong field with top ranked schools including USC, Stanford, Florida State, and Pepperdine all participating.
"It's a super-strong tournament, an elite club and a fantastic setting. There are some really great players there including No. 4 Matt Bruch from Stanford," head coach Matt Knoll said.
Matches will begin Friday at 10 a.m. and continue through the weekend with finals beginning at 11a.m. on Monday. The Bears will hit the road again next weekend at the Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas, before hosting their home opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m.
