LAWRENCE, Kan. - Baylor freshman outside hitter Katie Sanders (Katy, Texas) and senior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young (Berkeley, Calif.) had 10 kills each to lead the Bears, but Kansas was the aggressor on offense and came away with a 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 30-24) sweep Saturday night at Horesji Family Athletic Center.
Senior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc (Tampa, Fla.) recorded her 1,000th career dig to become the sixth player in Baylor history with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. She joins Jenny DeLue, Stevie Nicholas, Elisha Polk, Cory Sivertson and Heather Williams as the only ones to achieve the feat.
Senior outside hitter Deja Sweeney (Sacramento, Calif.) led the Bears defensively with a match-high 13 digs, while sophomore defensive specialist Amanda Renz (The Woodlands, Texas) added 10.
Jana Correa led Kansas (10-9, 3-7 Big 12) with 16 kills and 11 digs, while Emily Brown had 13 kills and 12 digs. Savannah Noyes added 10 kills.
Kansas outhit Baylor, .273-.216, and outdug them, 48-43. The Jayhawks had more aces, 6-3, while the Bears had more blocks, 5.0-4.0.
The Bears (13-8, 2-7 Big 12) have now lost six straight and have yet to win a Big 12 road match in five tries.
