Tennis' Poerschke Wins in Indoor Tourney

COLUMBUS, Ohio - With his win in the first round of the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships, Baylor junior Lars Poerschke moves on to the round of 16 in the competition held at the Racquet Club of Columbus (Ohio).
Poerschke, currently ranked No. 4 nationally and the tournament's No. 4 seed, easily defeated Old Dominion's Henrique Cancado, a senior from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 6-2, 6-3. Poerschke, a native of Buscek, Germany, will take on Steven Moneke of Ohio State on Friday. Moneke, ranked No. 65, advanced with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Tulsa's Ricardo Soriano. The Poerschke/Moneke contest will not begin any earlier than 11:30 a.m. (Central).
