Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:
"I'm excited with the win, it's a good teaching tool. It's good for the young guys to feel a little pressure at the end."
"I was very pleased with the energy, the captains must be sure we are focused."
"For a young team the best thing to do is play games, to show us if we are working on the right things."
Baylor Forward Kevin Rogers:
"We just focused on getting stops, that's the key thing we have to do during the season if we want to be a good team - we have to learn how to stop people. Everybody knows how to score, but for us to be an elite team we have to get stops and buckle down on defense."
Baylor Forward Tim Bush:
"The second half I think they came out with more intensity then we did. We have many different lineups, we have a big line up, we have a fast lineup, a scoring lineup, we have a great defensive lineup. I think coach went from the quick and fast lineup to the defensive lineup, but also everyone on the team can score, which makes it a great lineup."
"We are going to be excited for each and every game. As you can probably tell when we start the game to the end of the game, we are pretty intense. We have a lot of returning players that didn't have a pre-season last year, so we are going to be excited to play all the time."
Baylor Guard Curtis Jerrells:
"They (Texas State) rebound really well, they send four or five guys to the glass and we try to keep them off the board, but as far as the last couple of games, they are pretty good team."
"We played a couple games within in five days, six days, like Tim said, we are going to get tired. But everyone showed a great effort and we played hard."
