WACO, Texas - The No. 7 Baylor men's tennis team will host a doubleheader Thursday, March 30 taking on No. 17 Abilene Christian at 2:30 p.m. and No. 73 UT-Arlington at 6 p.m. This will be the Bears final non-conference action before kicking off Big 12 play on Sunday.
After a win Saturday over No. 60 SMU, Baylor's record improved to 11-4 on the season. The Bears will play these last two non-conference matches before kicking off their Big 12 season against Texas Tech Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
For tomorrow's competition, Abilene holds a 7-3 overall record and 3-0 in the Division II Lone Star Conference. Abilene is coming off of two victories in a double header of their own where they defeated No. 27 University of Incarnate Word and East Central University. UT-Arlington is 7-5 and is hosting a match against Southeastern Louisiana today.
Sophomore Lars Poerschke still holds the highest spot in the rankings for the Bears at No. 12. Also holding national ranks for Baylor are No. 31 Matija Zgaga, No. 59 Michal Kokta, No. 92 Vladimir Portnov and No. 120 Matt Brown.
Abilene Christian's Casper Steenkamp is ranked among division II players at No. 26. UT-Arlington has no ranked players.
