WACO, Texas - Sarah Grace and Ashlie Christenson were named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Volleyball team the league announced on Monday. Baylor was the only team to have multiple student-athletes voted onto the six-player ballot.

Grace played in 111 games and made 27 starts including 22 as the starting libero. She tallied 477 digs on the season, the fourth-highest single-season total in Baylor history. Her 4.30 digs per game average ranked third in the Big 12 this year and is the second-best mark for a single season in Baylor history, trailing Elisha Polk's record of 4.42 digs per game in 1999.

Grace tallied double-figure digs in 23 of her 29 matches played, including 20 or more digs on eight occasions. She recorded 15 or more digs in each of the first 11 matches of her career, including 27 digs against Stony Brook in her first match as libero. On Nov. 10, Grace recorded a career-high 33 digs in a 3-2 loss to Kansas State. The 33 digs ranked as the fourth-most in program history and the second-best total in the rally scoring era (2001-present). She also recorded 25 digs in a three-game loss to Missouri, a Baylor record for digs in a three-game match.

Christenson saw action in 116 games and made 10 starts at outside hitter. She recorded 315 kills and a 2.72 kills per game average to rank second on the team in both categories. She recorded 101 digs on the season and added 16 service aces though she only served during the second half of the season. Christenson was named to the Baylor Invitational all-tournament team after recorded 31 kills on .311 hitting in three matches.

Christenson recorded double-figure digs in 18 matches, including a career-high 18 kills in a 3-1 win over Kansas. In a 3-1 win over Texas Tech on Oct. 3, Christenson tallied 16 kills and one error in 24 total attacks to record a .625 hitting percentage. The .625 clip marked the fourth-best total in Baylor history in a four-game match and was the best total from an outside hitter during Big 12 action. She totaled seven digs on two occasions and a career-high three service aces on the road at Kansas and TCU.

Baylor ended its season with a 3-0 loss at Texas A&M on Saturday, dropping the Bears to 14-17 overall, 6-14 in Big 12 action.
