NORMAN, Okla. - The women's golf team finished first carding an 860 to set a tournament record at the Susie Maxwell-Berning Classic hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the 6,013-yard, par-72 Jimmie Austin University of Oklahoma Golf Course.
Senior Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) fired a final round 73 to finish second, her highest career finish, with a three round total 210 (68-69-73).
Freshman Hannah Burke (Hertfordshire, England) was the second Bear to post a top 5 finish in the tournament carding a 213 (71-68-74), while junior Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) improved to tie for seventh after shooting a final round 70 (69-77-70=216).
Senior Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) tied for 16th with a three round total 221 (74-73-74) while freshman Natalie Hocott (San Antonio, Texas) improved to tie for 64th at 233 (80-78-75). Junior Stephanie Waters (Austin, Texas) competed as an individual and tied for 77th at 236 (79-79-78).
Baylor shot an 860 (282-287-291) to claim the team title, by nine strokes over Arkansas. The Bears set a new record for the tournament by seven strokes over Oklahoma State's first place finish in 2006.Stacy Lewis of Arkansas earned the individual title at 208 by two strokes over Baylor's Anna Rehnholm.
The Bears are back in action when they host the Big 12 Championship April 16-18 at the Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas.
