WACO, Texas - Former Baylor men's tennis player Benjamin Becker, currently ranked No. 79 on the ATP Tour, upset 15th-ranked Carlos Moya in first-round action of the Thailand Open in Bangkok earlier today, 7-6(5), 6-4.

With the victory, the former NCAA singles champion and three-time All-American while representing Baylor, has now defeated four players who have been ranked No. 1 on the ATP Tour. In this three-year pro career, Becker has posted victories over Andre Agassi (No. 1 in 2003), Brazil's Gustavo Kuerten (2001), Russia's Marat Safin (2001), and Moya (1999).

"It's incredible to think that Benni has beaten four former No. 1's. His future is very bright," said Baylor head coach Matt Knoll.
