WACO, Texas - Sarah Ammerman led three Aggie players in double-digit kills as Texas A&M defeated Baylor 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon at the Ferrell Center. The Aggies avenged an earlier 3-1 loss to the Bears in College Station.
Texas A&M hit .352 for the match, committing only nine hitting errors for the match. Baylor hit at a .230 clip with 16 errors on the day.
Katie Sanders led the Bears with 12 kills on .320 hitting and added two service aces. Allison King added a career-high 10 kills for the match, while Ashlie Christenson added 10 kills on .368 hitting. Taylor Barnes collected 37 assists on the day and added one service ace.
King led the way for the Bears with nine digs, but failed to collect 10 or more digs for the first time in 21 matches. Barnes, Sanders and Brittany Ridenour each tallied eight digs for the Bears.
Baylor served up three aces, while only committing one receiving error. Sanders was perfect in serve-receive with 35 total opportunities.
Baylor returns to action on Wednesday as the Bears travel to Lubbock, Texas to face Texas Tech on Wednesday night. The match, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. will feature a live audio webcast on www.BaylorBears.com.
