Men's Tennis Holding Watch Party

Waco, TX- The men's tennis team will host a public watch party, following its 1 p.m. match with No. 18 Pepperdine on Sunday, to view its 2009 HP Cup victory over No. 4 Stanford last Tuesday. At the conclusion of the Pepperdine match the team will gather in the lobby of the Baylor Tennis Center to watch a DVD copy of the match. The viewing is open to the public and drinks and refreshments will be provided.

The match is also scheduled to be televised six times on Fox College Sports Central with play-by-play by Derek Smith and color analysis from Baylor women's coach Joey Scrivano.

The first airing of the match will be on Sunday, March 29 at 4 p.m. with another broadcast at 1 a.m. on Monday, March 30. The next airing will be at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, followed by a 2:30 p.m. showing on Wednesday, April 1. The final two broadcasts of the match will be on Thursday, April 2 at 1 p.m. and Saturday, April 4 at 7 a.m. Fox College Sports is found on channel 430 for Time Warner Customers in Waco and channel 227 for Grande customers in the area.

The match showcased two of the top-ten teams in country and featured two tiebreaker matches in doubles play and five tiebreaker sets in singles action. Also in the match, Baylor defeated its highest opponent since knocking off No. 2 Virginia, 6-1 on March 17, 2007. Baylor has never lost to Stanford, holding a 9-0 record over the Cardinal in a series that dates back to 1998, while also winning all three HP Cup matches between the two schools.
