WACO, Texas - Baylor had more kills, digs, assists and blocks against Oklahoma, but the Sooners still took a 3-1 (22-25, 21-25, 25-13, 22-25) victory over the Bears on Saturday at the Ferrell Center.

Most of Baylor's (8-8, 1-4) damage came in a dominating third set, while Oklahoma (11-5, 3-2) kept a consistent level of play in each of the other three sets with a big comeback in the fourth. The Bears fed the ball to Elizabeth Graham and Torri Campbell in the last two sets with the two combining for 15 kills in sets three and four.

"Liz (Graham) played great, and our gameplan was to attack up the middle," head coach Jim Barnes said. "When we have Liz and Torri (Campbell) both hurting teams from there our offense really gets going. But, as a team we are disappointed that we didn't come out and play our game from the beginning."

Graham ended the night with a career high 15 kills, while Campbell had 11 and Ashlie Christenson tallied 10. Kate Harris had 27 assists, and Brittany Ridenour recorded 25 to set the offense.

On defense, Baylor had five players with at least 10 digs and three players with at least four blocks. Caitlyn Trice had a team-best 17 digs to record her 16th consecutive match in double figures. Christenson and Harris both completed a double-double with 16 and 12 digs, respectively.

For Oklahoma, the Bears couldn't slow down Suzy Boulavsky, who led all players with 17 kills. Defensively, Maria Fernanda had a match-high 23 digs.

Baylor held the lead early and often in the first set, gaining a 13-10 advantage on back-to-back kills by Campbell and Allison King. OU tied the score at 14, but Christenson put away a kill for a 16-15 lead. A three-point OU run was erased by a service error and a Briana Tolbert kill to tie the score at 19-19. From there, OU seized control of the set with a five-point run, then got the finishing blow with a kill by setter Brianne Barker.

In the second set, Baylor grabbed an early 6-5 lead, but OU scored three in a row to build a 13-10 lead. Baylor battled back to tie the score at 19-19 with kills by Campbell and Christenson on back-to-back plays, but the Sooners four of the next five points or a 23-20 lead. A kill by Ashley Byrd kept BU alive at 24-21, but Caitlin Higgins got the final kill of the set.

The Bears came out on a mission in the third set, forcing two early OU timeouts with big runs. Kills by Graham and Christenson made it 4-1, then three consecutive blocks by Baylor gave them a 10-5 advantage. Campbell was in on all three, teaming up twice with Byrd and once with King. The Bears extended the lead to 10 with the help of a stretch by Graham that featured two kills and a solo block. Up 21-11, Baylor scored four of the next six points with two kills by Campbell and one by King to finish off the set 25-13.

In the fourth, Baylor got out to a blazing start again, with a 9-3 lead. Of BU's nine points, seven came on kills, with Graham recording two and five other players getting one each. Up 12-5, Baylor allowed a 5-0 OU run to put the set back within reach. The Sooners tied the score at 14-14, then put on a 6-2 run to create a four-point lead. A 3-0 Baylor run with a block and a kill by Graham kept them within one at 22-21, but OU answered again with three of the final four points to finish off the match.

Baylor will be back on the road for a two-match roadswing, starting with Texas A&M on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Follow the match with live scoring and audiostreaming at www.BaylorBears.com.
