WBB No. 6 in Final NCAA Home Attendance

The Big 12 remains the only conference to draw one million spectators and hit the mark in 2010-11 with 1,005,377 fans for an average of 4,720. In addition to the past five seasons, the Conference first reached the one-million plateau in 2001-02. The league continues to hold NCAA records for both cumulative attendance (1,021,289 in 2009-10) and average attendance (5,331 in 2001-02).
In 2010-11, the Lady Bears drew a Ferrell Center record-breaking 166,593 fans, averaging a record 7,933 a game to rank sixth nationally. BU surpassed the 100,000-mark in home attendance for the sixth straight year.
Against Tennessee on Dec. 14, Baylor set a then-Ferrell Center attendance record, including both men's and women's games, when 10,569 fans attended the contest. In fact, The Lady Bears drew four of the top six crowds in Ferrell Center history this season with a record crowd of 10,569 vs. Tennessee, 10,379 vs. Texas Tech which stands third, the 10,299 vs. Texas A&M which ranks fifth and the 10,294 vs. Texas is No. 6. Eight of the program's Top 25 Ferrell Center crowds were registered in 2010-11.
In addition, Baylor recorded a program-record four sellouts in 2010-11 (Tennessee, Texas Tech, Texas, Texas A&M) and its first back-to-back sellouts (Texas & Texas A&M) ever.
The Lady Bears ranked No. 1 among Big 12 schools in total attendance and were No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12 in all-games attendance which includes home, road and neutral sites. Baylor (3. 270,280), Texas A&M (6. 238,734), Iowa State (7. 219,829) and Texas Tech (10.187,424) were among the top 10 programs in all-games attendance.
A nation-high eight Big 12 schools were ranked in the Top 25 for average home attendance, led by Iowa State for the third consecutive year in fourth (9,316). Other rankings were 6. Baylor (7,933), 10. Texas Tech (7,043), 12. Texas A&M (6,104), 14. Oklahoma (5,490), 18. Texas (4,710), 21. Nebraska (4,333) and 24. Kansas State (4,068). Texas Tech has been among the Top 10 teams nationally in home attendance all 15 years since the inception of the league.
