MT's Mate Zsiga Begins Play in NCAA Singles

ATHENS, Ga. - Baylor freshman Mate Zsiga will compete in the 64-player NCAA Division Men's Tennis Singles Championship, May 23-28, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
Zsiga, currently ranked No. 17 nationally, will take on Georgia senior Ignacio Taboada, rated No. 52, on Wed., May 23, at 1:30 p.m. (CDT). The winner of the match will advance to play the winner of the No. 15 Alex Musialek (Kentucky)/No. 69 Damian Hume (Boise State) contest in the round of 32 on Thursday, May 24.
Zsiga, a native of Szeged, Hungary, is currently 36-8 on the season in singles, including a 15-8 mark against nationally ranked opponents. His 36 victories ranks No. 10 on Baylor's single season wins list.
The 45th-ranked tandem of Kike Grangeiro and Roberto Maytin were not selected to the 32-team doubles bracket.
