WACO, Texas - Baylor men's basketball has signed four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, head coach Scott Drew announced Wednesday. All four will join the team prior to the 2015-16 season.

Baylor's signees include junior college forward Joseph Acuil and prep guards Jake Lindsey, King McClure and Wendell Mitchell. The Bears' 2015 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 25 nationally by Scout.com and 247Sports.com.

"Our staff is extremely excited about the 2015 signing class," head coach Scott Drew said. "All four of our signees are great people from great families, and they've got great intangibles. They're hard workers, gym rats, good students, and they will represent Baylor in an outstanding manner."

Acuil is a 7-foot, 210-pound forward from Melbourne, Australia. He attends Neosho Community College in Chanute, Kan., where he is the No. 1 ranked junior college recruit in the 2015 class according to Mike Mitchell's Midwest Scouting Service. Acuil played 32 games as a freshman in 2013-14, averaging 11.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in 20.0 minutes per game. Those numbers improved to 14.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks in 26.3 minutes per game after moving into the starting lineup for 11 of 12 conference games.

"Jo Acuil has great length and shot blocking ability, which Baylor fans have become accustomed to, and he has a great skill set," Drew said. "He will really fit in well because he has such tremendous character. Jo grew up in watching Baylor basketball, and Baylor has been his dream school, so it's going to be great to watch him fulfill his dream."

Lindsey is a 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard from Salt Lake City Utah's Olympus High School. As a junior in 2013-14, he averaged 18.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.7 steals across 23 games played for Olympus. Lindsey scored in double figures and had at least three rebounds and two assists in all 23 games, including nine 20-point games. He is the son of former Baylor basketball player and current Utah Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey.

"Any time a Baylor great and current NBA general manager has a son who decides to come to Baylor, it really shows that Baylor is an incredible university with a strong family atmosphere," Drew said. "We really love Jake's toughness, his work ethic and his feel for the game, and we're excited about having another Lindsey in the Ferrell Center."

McClure is a consensus top-100 national recruit from Triple A Academy in Dallas, Texas. A 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard, McClure has scored in double figures in all 86 games over his first three years at Triple-A Academy, averaging 21.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game during his high school career. He had a career-high 50 points on 19-of-20 shooting in a win against Alamo Heights on Dec. 28, 2013.

"King McClure is one of the most recognized names in the nation because of how successful he's been as a prep player," Drew said. "He's a versatile player, and he already has a body to compete in the Big 12 Conference."

Mitchell is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard from Rockdale (Texas) High School. He's ranked No. 131 nationally in the 2015 recruiting class by Future150.com, and the same service ranks him No. 12 in the state of Texas. He played in 30 games as a junior at Rockdale in 2013-14, averaging 32.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 4.6 assists per game. Mitchell scored at least 18 points in all 30 games, including 17 30-point games and a career-high 54 points against Brazos Christian on Nov. 26, 2013.

"Wendell Mitchell led the state in scoring last year because he can score in a variety of ways," Drew said. "He's already a great player, but he has such a tremendous work ethic that we believe his best basketball is ahead of him."

Baylor opens the 2014-15 season by hosting McNeese State at 8:30 p.m. CT Friday. The game will be televised on FOX Sports Southwest-Plus and on FOX College Sports-Pacific.
