WBB - Nina Davis on Naismith Trophy Watch List

WACO, Texas - Sophomore forward Nina Davis in one of 50 players named to the Naismith Trophy Women's Watch List, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Wednesday morning.
Davis becomes the eighth Lady Bear to appear on the Naismith Trophy Watch List. Former BU players Sophia Young, Steffanie Blackmon, Rachel Allison, Danielle Wilson, Britney Griner and Odyssey Sims were all on the initial list and Griner won the award in 2013 and 2014.
Davis leads Baylor in both scoring and rebounding at 22.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. She is this week's Big 12 Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 43 points in Baylor's 96-54 win at Ole Miss, becoming just the seventh Lady Bear to score 40-or-more points in a game. She added nine rebounds while shooting .824 (14-of-17) from the floor and .790 (15-19) from the free throw line. Earlier in the week Davis tallied a then-season-high 31 points vs. UT-Pan American. She shot .867 (13-of-15) from the floor and .833 (5-of-6) from the charity stripe in addition to four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. In two games, the sophomore averaged 37.0 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting .844 (27-of-32) from the floor and .741 (20-of-27) from the free throw line.
