THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas (AP) - Freshman Johnathan Motley had 22 points and Baylor overcame a slow start to beat Texas A&M 77-63 on Tuesday night when the former Big 12 and Southwest Conference rivals played for the first time in three seasons.
Rico Gathers had 13 points and 10 rebounds for his 11th career double-double at Baylor (8-1), which won its ninth straight home game.
Kourtney Roberson and Alex Robinson each had 11 points for the Aggies (6-2), who had won five in a row. They shot a season-best 58 percent (22 of 38), but were outrebounded 36-17.

TOP QUOTE
"I thought that rebounding-wise, as a coach, you could not be more pleased with what we were able to do on the glass and with second chance points. With the rivalry and the hype going into the game I thought that is why it is good to play this type of game because that is what conference games are like and it is good for our guys to get in that environment." - Baylor head coach Scott Drew
