THE RUNDOWN SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Baylor volleyball's five-match win streak came to a close Friday afternoon when LSU defeated the Bears 25-23, 19-25, 28-26, 25-29 Friday at UTSA's Convocation Center.
Briana Holman had 18 kills and seven blocks for LSU (3-4) in the win while Katie Staiger had a career-high 20 kills in the loss for Baylor (9-3).
After Holman's seven kills helped the Tigers take set one, Baylor battled to even the match in set two, thanks to five kills from Adrien Richburg and the Bears hit .400. Then, in set three BU had set point at 24-22 before LSU scored six of the next eight points to win the set and take a 2-1 advantage. LSU closed the match hitting .441 in the final set.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Katie Staiger had a career-high 20 kills, and the redshirt freshman hit .333 for the match. Staiger has double-digit kills in seven of her last eight matches.
• Andie Malloy had 16 kills and eight digs. The junior has had 11 matches with double-digit kills in 12 contests this season.
• Adrien Richburg had a season-high 14 kills on a .522 hitting percentage.
• Ashley Myer had her first career double-digit digs match with 12.
• Hope Ogden led Baylor with 17 digs, giving the senior libero 899 career digs.
• Nicole Bardaji had seven kills the fifth of which, gave her 300 career kills.
• Amy Rosenbaum had 51 assists, helping Baylor hit .295 in the match. That's four matches on the season with at least 50 assists for the junior setter.
STAT OF THE GAME I
4.0 - Baylor's four blocks was the least this season in a four-set match for the Bears, and LSU outblocked BU 10-4.

Baylor plays LSU at Noon Saturday in a rematch before taking on the hosts of the Roadrunners Classic, UTSA, at 5 p.m. to close the tournament.
