
WBB's Wallace Nabs Big 12 Honor

WACO, Texas - Freshman guard Kristy Wallace was named Big 12 Conference Co-Freshman of the Week by the league for her performances vs. Prairie View A&M and No. 18 Oklahoma State.
Wallace came off the bench to average 8.5 points, 3.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in Baylor's wins for the week. She connected on .462 (6-of-13) of her field goal attempts, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range for the two games. Against Prairie View A&M, the freshman guard tallied six points, two rebounds, five assists and a steal. She then scored 11 points, hauled down three rebounds and registered three steals versus Oklahoma State in a matchup of Top 25 teams.
Wallace shared Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors with Texas Tech forward Dayo Olabode.
The Loganholme, Queensland, Australia, native is averaging 8.4 points and 2.1 rebounds a game on the season.
She is the second Lady Bear to earn Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors and the third BU player to be honored by the league this season. Dekeiya Cohen was the league's Freshman of the Week on Dec. 1, and sophomore forward Nina Davis is a three-time Big 12 Player of the Week selection, Dec. 8, Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.
