PLANTATION, Fla. - Baylor men's tennis junior Julian Lenz carded a three-set victory in the opening round of the 32-man main draw at the USTA Men's $10K Plantation Community Tennis Open Wednesday.
Lenz tallied a 2-6, 6-1, 6-0 win over Benjamin Balleret of Monaco at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center to reach the round of 16 of the USTA Futures event. Balleret is currently ranked No. 497 in the ATP world rankings.
The junior Bear is now 6-1 in last seven professional event matches.

WHAT'S NEXT
Lenz will now face Aron Hiltzik of the United States on Thursday as the two battle for a spot in the quarterfinals. Hiltzik, now a freshman at Illinois, was the country's top-ranked player in the 2014 signing class.
