THE RUNDOWN
HOUSTON -- The Baylor men's tennis team went 3-0 in singles matches on the opening day of the UTSA/ITA Regional Championships Saturday.

Freshman Jimmy Bendeck secured a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Incarnate Word's Ryan Hoverson in the opening round, before downing Lamar's Nikita Lis, 7-5, 6-2 in the round of 64.

Redshirt freshman Will Little received a first round bye and then bested Koby Jansen of UT Rio Grande Valley, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the round of 32.

Rain forced multiple changes to the schedule and venue, so no doubles matches were contested Saturday.

WHAT'S NEXT
On Sunday, Bendeck will face Rice's Jacob Hansen in the round of 32, while Little will play Texas Tech's Tommy MyInikor. In doubles, the duo will play its first match of the event at 6 p.m. against Texas A&M's Sam Giammalva and Frankie Colunga.
