
WBB's Wallace leads Australians vs. USA

MERCIA, Spain -
Baylor sophomore Kristy Wallace led Australia's 2015 USA U19 World Championship Team, the Gems, in the squad's, 85-82, exhibition loss to the USA's U19 squad on Sunday evening in Mercia, Spain.
Wallace, a 5-11 guard, tallied 23 points to lead the Gems vs. the USA. She added five assists, three rebounds and a steal in 32 minutes of action.
The contest was the first game in a July 12-14 round-robin tournament between U19 teams from Australia (0-1), Canada (0-1), Spain (1-0) and the USA (1-0). In the second game, Spain defeated Canada, 63-53. In the final two exhibition games, the Gems will take on Spain and Canada.
After exhibition games are complete, the teams travel to the site of the U19 World Championships, Chekov, Russia. The Australians will scrimmage the USA in Russia (July 16), before beginning tournament play.
