BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Kim Mulkey
On Niya Johnson and Alexis Princeà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"Niya had 11 assists and she averages around seven points per game. Alexis [Prince] held [Brittney] Martin to zero points when she was guarding her. You don't say that we lost [earlier this season in Stillwater] because we were missing two players, that's sports. We gave them credit in Stillwater and went back to work."

On finishing strongà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think you need to give Oklahoma State a lot of credit for their defense. I thought we went through a spell where we did not score. Prince set the tone for us. To hold Brittney Martin to zero points [in the first half], I just have to complement Prince. I don't know if anyone has done that this year. I thought [Alexis] Jones came out of the gates in the first half very aggressive offensively and scored some buckets. I thought we missed some free throws that could have extended the lead at halftime. At halftime, I challenged the bench and then Kalani [Brown] and Kristy [Wallace] came alive in the second half and did some good things."

On the difference from the loss at Oklahoma Stateà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"Well, I did not have to do much motivating. I didn't have to do any backflips or anything. I just think having our entire team healthy helps. You can't go into battle with some of your players missing. We have held two teams in a row now to 36 and 41 points."

Senior Niya Johnson
On closing the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"Finishing the third quarter strong was huge. That was something we needed heading into the fourth quarter. They gained the momentum and that was something we needed to motivate our team."

On extra motivation after the lossà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"That loss ate me up. I was just ready to see Oklahoma State again and help my teammates get a win."

Junior Alexis Jones
On motivation for this game à ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"I was really motivated because we had lost to them. We were definitely ready to play them and I am sure they were ready to play us, too."

On getting a better feel for the flow of the gameà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I think I am a lot more comfortable and we are getting to know each other a lot more. We are getting better and better. It is good to know that this team is improving every game. "

OKLAHOMA STATE POSTGAME QUOTES

Head Coach Jim Littell
Opening statementà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦

"We knew coming in here, we were coming to a buzz-saw. We knew that Kim [Mulkey] would have her group ready to play, and they definitely were ready to play. I am a little disappointed the way we started the game and finished the game. I thought they were the aggressor, they played with a lot more fire in their belly than we did. I thought a lot of shots we took in the first half were intimidated hope shots, and that is not conducive to playing with a team like Baylor that is number four in the country, and obviously that good. I was proud of our kids in the third quarter, when we cut it to four and then we just did three or four things that took us out of the game. Baylor is good, there is no question. With all the pieces to the puzzle they are the team to beat in the league. They are very similar to the [Kansas] men ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" until somebody beats them and knocks them off, they are controlling this league right now."

On OSU competitive nature tonightà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I am just disappointed in that we didn't make it more competitive. That is not to take anything away from Baylor, they were much more competitive than us tonight. They have all the pieces to the puzzle to make a deep run into the NCAA tournament."

On Niya Johnson, Alexis Prince, and Nina Davisà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"I know there are some point guards that score more than Niya Johnson, but there is not a point guard in the country that runs the thing better than she does. About getting the ball where it needs to be, throwing the loop pass to the post players inside. Point guards make everyone around them better, obviously she makes everyone around her better. When you get Prince back you get a premier defender back ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" she has some length that can change some shots and alter some things. It was a different team, when Nina Davis is playing a four as supposed to a three; which they had to do due to the injuries early in the year. I think she is just much more efficient at that position, that's just my take on it."

On mutual respect for each other's defenseà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"[Mulkey's] play hard all the time. 66 is a lot more than we normally give up, but when you look at it, 24 points were off our turnovers. We held them to 25 at half; it's been our trademark that we just need to guard people. If we are going to win, we don't have the fire power to just get in scoring battles with her. I really admire the way she coaches her teams. It is based on defense, rebounding, and running solid offense. For the most part, I think we have done that a lot this year and that is why we have had some success. Our philosophies are very close, she just has coached a zillion more games than I have."

On not being able to maintain a close leadà ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It was very deflating. Win or lose, that you fought yourself back and that you spent that much time, and then you just got careless. Give them credit, too. They are open and in passing lanes, they are going for steals, they are running past screens, and they are creating run out situations for themselves. It's a combination of them playing really good defensively, but that is what I was disappointed in our kids that we got really sloppy with the basketball against a team like Baylor."

On Brittney Martin à ¢Ã¢' ¬ ¦
"It is really hard for me to be critical of Brittney Martin after all she has done for us this year. I don't how many double-doubles she has had in league play. She is leading in scoring, rebounding and steals. She is a good player and Alexis Prince was able to contain her."
