WACO, Texas - The 37th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team resumes Big 12 play with a pair of road matches this weekend. The Bears will face No. 8 Oklahoma Friday in Norman, Okla., followed by a Sunday matchup against No. 14 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.

Friday and Sunday's matches begin at 6 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. CT, respectively. The match against OSU will be televised on FS2 as part of the USTA's College MatchDay series.

Baylor (14-9, 1-1 Big 12) is currently on a three-match winning streak, topping Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Bears finished its home slate with a 13-4 record and will play their first true road match of the season. BU is 1-5 in neutral site contests in 2016.

BU is led by reigning Big 12 Player of the Week Julian Lenz, ranked No. 17 in singles. Junior Max Tchoutakian is No. 86. That pairing is a combined 28-7 in dual-match play at the No. 1 and 2 positions for the Bears in singles.

In doubles, an injury to Will Little has broken up BU's top-ranked tandem as he was paired with Lenz to be the country's 25th-best doubles team. However, the Bears have won both doubles points in conference action with the now-82nd ranked pairing of Tchoutakian and Tommy Podvinski playing at the No. 1 spot, followed by Felipe Rios and Jimmy Bendeck at No. 2 and Lenz and newcomer Tyler Stayer on court three.

Oklahoma (12-8, 1-1 Big 12) leads the all-time series, 24-20. Baylor dropped four tight contests against the Sooners last season, including 4-3 decisions in both the Big 12 regular season and then again in the league championship match.

BU last recorded a win over then-No. 3 Oklahoma in the 2014 Big 12 Championship finals in Fort Worth. With the upset, Baylor claimed its eighth postseason conference title.

Oklahoma looks for its second conference win of the season after splitting its first two matches. Oklahoma opened Big 12 play with a 4-3 loss to No. 2 TCU, then blanked No. 17 Texas, 4-0, in Austin.

Axel Alvarez-Llamas leads the Sooners with a No. 23 ITA singles ranking, followed by No. 46 Alex Ghilea and No. 69 Spencer Papa. In doubles, Alvarez-Llamas and Papa pair to be the 35th-best duo in the country. Also, Alvarez-Llamas and Andrew Harris are No. 53 in doubles.

Baylor leads the all-time series against Oklahoma State, 25-8. The Bears are riding a 12-match winning streak against the Cowboys (16-5, 0-2 Big 12). Last season, BU blanked Oklahoma State, 4-0, in its final home match of the year.

Most recently, the Cowboys dropped two 4-0 losses to No. 17 Texas and No. 2 TCU to open conference play. OSU opens its three-match homestand with a top-15 matchup against No. 10 Texas Tech on Friday, before hosting the Bears.

In singles, Julian Cash leads the Cowboys with a No. 59 singles ranking, followed by No. 119 Arjun Kadhe and No. 125 Jurence Mendoza. OSU has the fifth-best doubles tandem in Kadhe and Cash, followed by No. 65 Lucas Gerch and Temur Ismailov.

Following the weekend, Baylor concludes the regular season with a road match against No. 2 TCU in Fort Worth on Wednesday.
