MT Hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Saturday Doubleheader

WACO, Texas - The 45th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team will take a break from conference play with a doubleheader against Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center. The matches are set for a 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. start.

Baylor and Arkansas-Pine Bluff will meet for the first time in program history.

The Bears (12-9) snapped a five-match losing streak with a 4-2 win over conference foe and 17th-ranked Texas on Tuesday in Waco. On Senior Day, the Bears captured the doubles point and had singles wins at the top three spots for the team's first Big 12 win of the season.

Senior Julian Lenz took sole possession of No. 6 on Baylor's all-time career singles wins list with a three-set victory on Tuesday (107). Baylor currently holds an 11-4 record at home and is 1-1 in league play.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff will end its regular season in Waco and is currently 3-22 on the season. In its last match, UAPB dropped three consecutive matches to No. 18 Tulsa Tuesday. The Golden Lions last posted a win on April 2 with a 5-2 victoryon against Texas A&M-Texarkana on their home court.

In the newest ITA rankings, the 14th-ranked Lenz leads the team in singles action, followed by No. 86 junior Max Tchoutakian. Lenz pairs with redshirt freshman Will Little to be the 27th-best doubles duo in the country.

Following the doubleheader, Baylor will conclude the regular season with a three-match road trip against Big 12 conference opponents: No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 12 Oklahoma State and No. 2 TCU.
