WACO, Texas - Baylor men's basketball sophomore forward Leonard Allen is taking an indefinite leave of absence due to personal medical challenges, head coach Scott Drew announced Friday.
"We will continue to support Leonard in every way possible," Drew said. "He's been a great representative of our program and an excellent teammate since joining our team, and all of us are praying for him and looking forward to his return."
Allen enrolled at Baylor in August and has three years of eligibility remaining. He graduated from Round Rock High School in 2013, but initially decided not to pursue collegiate basketball.
Allen later enrolled at San Diego City College, where he averaged 14.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game as a freshman in 2015-16. He sat out the 2016-17 season while taking classes at Austin Community College.
