WBB’s Brown Picks up 4th All-America Honor; Lady Bears Ranked No. 5 by WBCA

Brown named AP Preseason All-America; Baylor ranked in top five by coaches

WACO, Texas – Baylor senior center Kalani Brown picked up her fourth preseason all-America honor as the Associated Press selected the highly decorated post, and the Lady Bears were ranked No. 5 in the USA Today/WBCA Preseason Top 25.
Brown was also an all-America pick by Athlon Sports, Street & Smith's, and Lindy's Sports before the AP named her to an exclusive five-member list along with Louisville's Asia Durr, Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu, UConn's Katie Lou Samuelson and Notre Dame's Arike Ogunbowale. All five players participated in Wednesday's ESPN Women's College Basketball Media Day in Bristol, Conn. at ESPN's headquarters.
A day after earning a No. 4 preseason ranking from the AP, the WBCA picked the Lady Bears fifth. Notre Dame was picked No. 1 after last year's national title, UConn checked in at No. 2, Oregon at No. 3 and Louisville at No. 4. The Lady Bears were followed by Mississippi State, Stanford, Texas, Oregon State and Maryland to round out the sixth through 10th spots, respectively.
Baylor plays its final exhibition tonight vs. Texas A&M-Commerce at 7 p.m. before opening the season at home Tuesday vs. Nicholls at 6 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
