Bears and Trojans tipping off for the fourth time, first since 2024
LOS ANGELES – Baylor women's basketball will face Southern California in the Hollywood Hardwood Classic on Friday, Nov. 20, at 10 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network from Intuit Dome, the two-year-old home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Tickets for the game are available now on Ticketmaster with the presale code BEARS26. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday at 12 p.m. CT.
The Hollywood Hardwood Classic will mark the first-ever women's college basketball game played at Intuit Dome, bringing together two iconic programs for a nationally televised showcase.
The event marks the launch of a new annual Los Angeles sports tradition, bringing elite women's college basketball to one of the world's newest premier sports venues. More than a game, it will showcase the growth and momentum of women's college basketball while creating a unique platform at the intersection of sports, culture and entertainment.
Baylor and USC have met three times in the all-time series, with USC holding a 2-1 advantage. The only meeting in the Nicki Collen era came in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, where the two programs met in the Sweet 16.
The Women of Troy squeaked out a four-point win in that win-or-go-home game, which featured double-digit scoring from Sarah Andrews (17 points), Jada Walker (15 points, seven assists) and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (12 points, 11 rebounds). Dre'una Edwards paced the Bears on the boards with 12. Juju Watkins, who returns to USC's 2026-27 squad, had 30 points, going 8-of-28 from the field and 12-of-13 from the free-throw line. Rayah Marshall had 16 rebounds and was 5-of-10 for 11 points on the night.
Before that, the two programs had faced off only in 1999 and 2000 in a home-and-home series that was split, with USC taking the 1999 meeting in LA and Baylor winning the 2000 game in Waco.
BU returns to the court in 2026-27 with the Big 12's third-leading scorer, Taliah Scott, who averaged 19.7 points per game, and fifth-year post Kyla Abraham. Also returning are Ines Goryanova, Ella Brown, Kayla Nelms and Marcayla Johnson. Baylor brought in five newcomers via the transfer portal: Skylar Jones from Louisville, Reese Ross from Utah, Tianna Thompson from Ole Miss, Trinity Turner from Georgia and Lorena Awou, who enrolled last spring from NC State.
Baylor is coming off a 25-9 campaign in 2025-26, finishing third in the Big 12 while extending the nation's second-longest active streaks of 20-win seasons (26) and consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (22). The Bears led the conference in blocks per game and 3-point percentage defense and ranked 14th nationally in field-goal percentage defense. Building on success, Baylor owns the most victories among Big 12 teams since Collen took the program's reins ahead of the 2021-22 season, while Collen ranks third among active major conference head coaches in wins through their first five seasons at their current school and fifth in winning percentage in that same category.
