- Baylor picks up its first win of the 2018-19 season.
- Saturday's game opened the 2018 Emerald Coast Classic. Baylor has now won 12 consecutive regular-season tournament games and is 18-3 in regular-season tournaments since 2013-14.
- Baylor is now 10-0 in the all-time series with Southern.
- Baylor moves to 53-3 in its last 56 non-conference home games dating back to Dec. 12, 2012.
- Drew is in his 16th season and is Baylor's all-time wins leader (297) – he is 297-196 at BU and 317-207 overall in 16 seasons as a head coach.
