Bears hosting round three action for first time in program history
WACO, Texas – No. 11 Baylor soccer (19-5-0, 8-1-0 Big 12) will host a Sweet 16 match in Waco for the first time in program history, facing No. 12 Virginia (16-4-1, 7-3-0 ACC) on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.
The national No. 2-seeded Bears enter the third round of the NCAA postseason in back-to-back seasons for the first time, looking to repeat the remarkable run into the Elite 8 in 2017.
BU knocked off the SEC regular season champion, No. 13 Vanderbilt, on Friday evening, rolling to a 3-1 win over the Commodores in front of a packed house at Betty Lou.
Virginia earned a No. 3 national seed, defeating Monmouth 2-0 in the opening round. The Cavaliers worked to a 0-0 (2OT) tie with Texas Tech on Friday afternoon, advancing on penalty kicks (4-2).
For the first time in program history, all home matches will offer a free live video stream on Facebook.com/BaylorFutbol.
