BAYLOR POSTGAME QUOTES

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement...
"Very pleased with how we came out tonight. Starting it 21-9 was great. It's always tough being the first four out, not knowing how guys are going to respond, but at the same time we are blessed to be able to play postseason basketball."

On the hot start...
"I think coaches want teams to start off every game like tonight. I thought defensively holding them to 29% was really good and when we guard like that we win games. Hopefully we can keep guarding like that throughout the tournament."

On if the practices or games mean more this time of year...
"The players will say the games. I think it is all important. You dial in more in practice because you know its win or go home. The older guys want to keep winning and playing and the younger guys don't want to disappoint the older guys by going home early."

Baylor Senior Manu Lecomte
On if the run to start the fourth quarter was needed...
"Wagner is a good team, we didn't want to let them get any momentum. Number 3 was hot, and we needed to figure out how to get him out of a rhythm and get some stops. We did that, and it allowed us to build a lead.

Baylor Senior Terry Maston
On if the expanded paint area helped the team...
"I think it gives guys like Manu the chance to feed it down low, because the defenders are a little more spread out and its more difficult for help to come and double team. It also gives us bigs more room to operate knowing that a double team isn't coming."

WAGNER POSTGAME QUOTES

Wagner Head Coach Bashir Mason
Opening Statement...
"Baylor's great. Those guys are long, athletic, really talented. You know the job we did with breaking those guys down in the past 48 hours once we found out we were playing them, it was really different playing those guys tonight. I hope they go far in the NIT, those guys are really good. I would like to focus on my guys. I thought my guys battled and competed, they were excited to be here and gave it everything they had. We fell a little short but we can't let tonight define what our season was. It was a great season coaching them. I couldn't be prouder of a group."

On getting the offensive boards...
"That's been one of our offensive staples all year, hitting the backboard. I wish we converted some of those offensive rebounds into some more points, but we focus on that in practice every day and for us, that shows that we're playing hard, we're engaged in the game when we're hitting the glass that way so that number shows we came to compete and play hard."

On Baylor's lead at the end...
"Blake Francis played great in the first half, kept us around, Joe Cooper kept us around and Romone Saunders. Three of our best guys couldn't make shots. In the second half I was hoping those two would get going, Joe and Romone, and they never really got going. You've got to give Baylor credit for that, their length and their closeouts on those guys was much different than what we've seen all year so they made us struggle."
