Preview: No. 1 VB Returns Home to Face West Virginia

WACO, Texas – Top-ranked Baylor volleyball (16-1, 6-1 Big 12) will look to start a new winning streak in Saturday's matchup against West Virginia (10-10, 1-6 Big 12) at 1 p.m. CT at the Ferrell Center.

BU also looks for head coach Ryan McGuyre's 100^th win at the helm. He is currently 99-42 during his tenure.

The match will be live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with John Morris and Katie Staiger on the call.

It's Superhero Day at the Ferrell Center, and free BU capes will be given out to fans while supplies last.

BEARS LOOK TO REBOUND AT HOME AGAINST THE MOUNTAINEERS
• The Bears were the final undefeated team in D1 college volleyball after holding a 16-0 record.
• BU snapped its program-best 31-set winning streak on Wednesday. Baylor had won 10 straight matches in three sets after winning the fourth set against Houston on Sept. 12.
• Baylor's 31-set win streak was the second longest in the country behind Stephen F. Austin. SFA extended its streak to 34 straight sets with last Saturday's win over Southeastern Louisana.
• BU went undefeated through non-conference play for the first time since 2009 and only the third time in program history. The 2001 season was the first time the Bears went unblemished in non-conference action with an 8-0 record, and the 2009 squad went a program-best 11-0.
• Baylor still holds an 8-0 record at the Ferrell Center this season and has won nine straight dating back to last season.
• BU is 8-0 against West Virginia under head coach Ryan McGuyre.
• Baylor is in the top-20 nationally in four different stat categories heading into Saturday's match, and two players are among the nation's top 10 in four categories (full list on pg. 3).

• A win would give BU an unblemished 9-0 record in home matches this season.
• A win would be Baylor's ninth consecutive victory over the Mountaineers.
• A win would give Baylor a 7-1 record to close out the first half of Big 12 play.

• BU is 52-17 all-time in home matches under head coach Ryan McGuyre.
• Baylor improved to 30-3 in home non-conference matches under McGuyre, finishing 5-0 in 2019.
• At home, BU is 7-0 in three sets, 1-0 in four sets and 0-0 in five-set matches.
• Baylor has broken the single-match attendance record in three straight seasons, most recently with 3,878 fans at the Tennessee match. It shattered the previous high set against LSU last season with 3,858 fans.
• BU has had seven top-10 crowds at the Ferrell Center under McGuyre, including three this season.

MCGUYRE ONE WIN AWAY FROM 100 BAYLOR VICTORIES
• Head coach Ryan McGuyre surpassed 400 career wins during the 2018 season and now looks to garner his 100th win as the Baylor head coach.
• McGuyre is 99-42 in his fifth season at Baylor. He would become the fourth Baylor coach in program history to accumulate 100 wins.
• He would be the fastest Baylor coach to 100 wins and holds a .702 win mark in Waco in his fifth season.
• McGuyre sits at 434-175 overall mark in his 18th year as a collegiate women's head coach.
• McGuyre has been a collegiate head coach at three spots: Biola, Cal Baptist and Baylor.

LAST TIME VS. WEST VIRGINIA IN WACO (Nov. 21, 2018)
• No. 25 Baylor volleyball closed out another impressive regular season with a 3-1 victory over West Virginia at the Ferrell Center, 25-27, 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.
• Baylor posted its second-straight season finishing in second place in the conference standings, posting an 11-5 record and a 7-1 record during the second half of league play.
• Aniah Philo posted her team-leading 12th double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs on Senior Night. Yossiana Pressley lead all players after she posted 20 kills on a .240 hitting clip.
• Shelly Fanning and Jaelyn Jackson dominated at the net with six blocks each to help BU post 12.5 blocks against the Mountaineers.
