Johnson earns first national honor of the season for the Bears
WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian junior Clara Johnson was named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month for November, announced Wednesday by the association.
Johnson is the seventh horsemanship selection in program history and first national honoree of the season for the Bears.
Johnson was perfect on the month in horsemanship, posting a 3-0 mark with wins against No. 4 TCU, No. 2 Georgia and No. 7 Fresno State.
She earned two MOP honors with a 76.5 against TCU and a meet-high 74.5 at Fresno State. She also earned a 73.5-68.5 win over Georgia at a neutral-site meet.
The Indianola, Iowa native has a 5-1 record this season with three MOP honors.
Johnson and the Bears return to competition on Feb. 7 at TCU.
