Johnson grabs her first conference nod while Davis earns her second
WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian juniors Rachael Davis and Clara Johnson were named Big 12 Riders of the Month, announced Monday by the conference office.
Davis earned the honor in flat while Johnson won the award in horsemanship. It's Davis' second career weekly honor while Johnson nabs her first. Davis also won the flat honor last season.
Davis went 3-0 in November with one MOP honor. Her 81-79 win over No. 7 Fresno State earned her MOP distinction for the first time this season. She also posted a dominant 76-70 win over No. 2 Georgia and 85-82 victory over No. 4 TCU. She has a 6-1 record in flat this season.
Johnson was a perfect 3-0 on the month in horsemanship with wins against No. 4 TCU, No. 2 Georgia and No. 7 Fresno State.
She earned two MOP honors with a 76.5 against TCU and a meet-high 74.5 at Fresno State. She also earned a 73.5-68.5 win over Georgia. She has a 5-1 record this season with three MOP honors.
The ninth-ranked Bears return to competition on Feb. 7 at TCU.
