THEY SAID IT
Baylor Head Coach Joey Scrivano
On the outcome of the match...
"First of all, credit to Northwestern. They played a great match. They started strong in doubles and got control of the match. In singles, we did a great job of getting back in control by winning a lot of first sets. They're a tough team and made the match really physical. It was a great match and they're a great team. Credit to them for taking the win."
On takeaways from the game...
"There are always lessons to be learned. When you lose, typically the players listen a lot more. They reflect a little deeper after a loss. We'll reflect on it and figure out what we need to do better. Right now I have a pretty good idea what we need to do. These types of matches happen and they make you better in the end."
Baylor Junior Livia Kraus
On what went wrong during the match...
"I don't know if anything went wrong. Our opponents were prepared and played very well. We tried our best and we were a little unlucky today with Jess's [Jessica Hinojosa] injury today. Some of the girls, including myself, didn't play our best tennis today, but it happens. We need to learn from today, look to the future and take the momentum into the next match and be sure we're 100 percent focused."
