Bears look to win their first road contest in the spring opener
WACO, Texas – No. 9 Baylor equestrian (3-4, 1-2 Big 12) will kick off spring play with a road meet at No. 7 TCU (4-4, 1-2 Big 12) on Friday at 10 a.m. at Diamond Creek Ranch in Fort Worth.
"We are really looking forward to getting out on the road and kicking off our spring season against TCU," head coach Casie Maxwell said. "It's been great to have some time off to work on some details, but now we're ready to get back to work in the competition arena. This will be the first of five tough competitions this spring before we head into the postseason, so we're pushing for great focus and attention to detail."
Baylor holds a 22-6 all-time record against TCU with the most recent matchup resulting in a 14-6 home win for the Bears – the largest margin of victory this season.
TCU is coming off a 15-2 home victory over Delaware State on Jan. 30 after the Horned Frogs ended the fall season with a 10-9 loss to No. 3 Oklahoma State.
The Bears' most recent trip resulted in road losses to No. 2 Georgia and No. 7 Fresno State at a tri-meet in Fresno, Calif. in November. Though falling short on the scoreboard, BU collected six of the eight possible MOP honors awarded at the meet.
There will be live scoring for Friday's contest provided by TCU, and the link is on the Baylor equestrian schedule page at BaylorBears.com.
