Nine Bears are named to the academic team while 21 are tabbed honor roll recipients

WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian had 31 selections to the Farnam NCEA All-Academic Teams and APHA NCEA Academic Honor Roll, announced by the national organization on Tuesday.

Nine Bears were named to the first team while one player was named a second team selection, and 21 earned honor roll recognition.

Baylor's 10 first and second team selections tied the second-most amongst all NCEA schools and led all Big 12 schools.

First team members needed to have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of her school's meets, earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

Second team members needed to have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of her school's meets, earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

The top academic student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters were eligible for the honor roll.

The Bears finished the season with a 5-8 record and 2-4 mark in Big 12 play, facing 10 ranked opponents in 13 meets. BU finished with a 4-1 home record in 2019-20.
