Bears in search of 20th win of 2021 campaign
WACO, Texas – No. 3 Baylor men's tennis will cap off a busy week of action Monday afternoon in Beaumont as the Bears travel to take on Lamar at 2 p.m. CT.
BU is 19-3 to start the year and will search for its 20th win of the season, hoping to eclipse the 20-win plateau for the seventh time in the last nine seasons.
Last time out, the Bears swept both ends of a doubleheader with Louisiana and DBU Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center. All 14 Bears saw action, including Rahul Dhokia who made his season debut with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles over the Patriots' Josh Williams.
Fifth-year senior Constantin Frantzen earned his 100th-career doubles victory on Saturday, becoming just the fourth Bear all-time to accomplish the feat. He currently sits in a tie for third place on Baylor's all-time leaderboard, just four wins behind Benjamin Becker's school record 104.
Baylor holds a combined 93-17 mark in singles play this spring and a 44-16 record in doubles. The Bears are 17-5 in the doubles point this season and have gone 16-1 in matches when doing so.
Against the Cardinals, BU leads the all-time series 9-4 and has won each of the last eight meetings. Each of the previous four contests have resulted in Baylor sweeps.
