Bears coming off back-to-back road wins in Colorado
WACO, Texas – No. 24 Baylor women's tennis (4-3) hosts its first matches at home in nearly two weeks as SMU (4-2) and Mississippi State (6-1) come to town. The Bears will face the Mustangs at noon on Friday before taking on the Bulldogs at noon on Sunday.
Both matches are slated to take place at Hurd Tennis Center; however, they will move indoors to Hawkins if the weather is too bad to play outdoors.
The Bears have won the doubles point in six-straight matches. No. 2 Mel Krywoj and Alicia Herrero Linana are 5-0 in doubles this spring.
In singles action, freshmen Alina Shcherbinina and Anita Sahdiieva are 6-1 and 5-1, respectively. At the No. 1 spot, Isabella Harvison is riding a two-match win streak.
SMU, a former Southwest Conference rival, is coming off a 4-3 road win over South Florida following back-to-back losses to Texas and Texas A&M.
Mississippi State, which will also play the Mustangs at noon Saturday, have won two-straight since falling to third-ranked Georgia, 4-1, in the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Live scoring and streaming video for the matches will be available at baylorbears.com.
