Track & Field to Compete at Charlie Thomas Invitational

WACO, Texas – Baylor track & field is ready to head to Bryan-College Station for the Charlie Thomas Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M. Action starts Friday afternoon at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium, with the heptathlon beginning at 3 p.m., and Saturday's field events starting at noon.

The Aggies (No. 7 men, No. 9 women) are hosting Abilene Christian, Alabama, Cincinnati, Houston, Houston Baptist, Little Rock, Oklahoma, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston, San Diego State, SMU, South Plains, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Texas State, UCF, UT Arlington, UTSA and Vanderbilt for this weekend's meet.

Baylor returns to Texas after two-straight weeks away from its home state, with the women ranked in the No. 15 spot in the USTFCCCA Rating Index Poll, also for the second-straight week.

Alex Madlock jumped up in the top-25 national list on the women's side after her record-setting performance last weekend in Kentucky. Madlock landed a 20-8 ½ jump in long jump to rise to No. 8 nationally and No. 2 at Baylor in both athletes and performances. Madlock is joined by Ackera Nugent, Tuesdi Tidwell and Caira Pettway, all ranked nationally in their events.

The men's squad lands four student-athletes in the national top-25, including Johnny Brackins featured in the long jump, triple jump and 60-meter hurdles. Matthew Moorer also doubles up on the list in both the 200- and 400-meter races.

The men's and women's 4x400-meter relays are in stride, with men finishing top-8 nationally and women in at No. 16.
