Bears run at Watts for the second time this season, sixth time under Barnett
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor cross country is set to make its second trip down Highway 6 for its second meet of the season at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course for Texas A&M's Arturo Barrios Invitational. It will be the sixth meet for the Bears in Aggieland in only the third year under head coach David Barnett.
The men's 8,000 meters is scheduled to begin bright and early at 8:30 a.m., followed by the women's 6,000 meters at 9:15.
Coming off a top-10 finish at the Gans Creek Classic in Missouri, the men's squad brings nine participants in seniors Ryan Hodge and Zach Zawatski, juniors Devin Duran and Drew Snyder, sophomore Caleb Ackman and freshmen Nolan Keenan, Straton Miller, Aiden Ramshaw and Kanalu Wong.
The women's race will feature nine more Bears with seniors Jackie Addy, Chloe Gangnath and Lily Williams, juniors Hayden Gold, Jordan Ledington, Abby Morris and Alaina Zamorano and freshmen Kat Helmer and Rosanna Pugh.
Hodge and Gold have led the Bears in their respective races in every meet they've participated in this season. Gold's silver medal at the season-opening UIW Twilight got the first non-dual meet win for the women's squad in five years, while Hodge finished 13th in the talent-packed Gans Creek field.
