
MT Welcomes Abilene Christian, Brown for Doubleheader

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis returns home for a doubleheader against Abilene Christian and Brown on Saturday. Action begins at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center for the first match against the Wildcats and noon, followed by the Brown Bears at 6 p.m.
BU (5-8) concluded a four-match road trip last weekend at the ITA Indoor National Championships, where the Bears went winless against No. 1 Ohio State, No. 3 TCU, No. 8 South Carolina and No. 16 Florida.
Baylor boasts a 17-3 record against ACU, not taking a loss since the 1992 season. The Waco-based Bears will be facing the Rhode Island-based Bears for the first time in program history.
Tadeas Paroulek and Zsombor Velcz received career-high doubles rankings of No. 10 last week for the second round of spring individual rankings, while Finn Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi dropped six spots to No. 15. In the singles rankings, Bass leads the Bears in singles rankings at No. 46 and Paroulek moved up to No. 77.
Paroulek and Velcz leads the team in wins this season at 8-1 with a perfect 3-0 record against ITA ranked opponents. The pair also each holds the most single wins this season, with six each.
Admission to the match is free and fans attending the ACU match will receive free Chick-Fil-A and Tiff's Treats, while supplies last. The nightcap against Brown features a tennis starter pack drawing, free pizza, free t-shirts and a coffee truck.
