WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis travels up I35-E for the first time since 2021 to face SMU on its home courts Thursday evening at 5 p.m.
The Bears (9-11) come off of a 1 ½-hour sweep of Prairie View A&M in the second half of their doubleheader on Sunday night.
No. 47 SMU holds the 28-25 series lead over the Bears after the two programs faced off three times in the 2021 season. Baylor took all three matches and only allowed SMU to score one doubles point.
The home Mustangs are 11-9 off two doubleheader wins from Mississippi Valley State and Tulsa on Sunday. Adam Neff earned conference player of the week honors after beating No. 30 and No. 33-ranked singles players last week.
Finn Bass leads the No. 49 Bears in the ITA computerized rankings at No. 41, with Tadeas Paroulek just behind in 94th. In doubles, Paroulek and Zsombor Velcz are 11th, while Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi are right behind in 12th.
Velcz leads the Bears across the board in wins this season, with 12 in singles and 14 in doubles paired with Paroulek.
Live scoring can be followed online and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
