
Three Matches in Three Days Highlights WT Home Finale

Monday’s contest is highlighted by Senior Day, 500-win celebration for Scrivano
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis will wrap up its 2023 home slate this weekend when it hosts three matches in three days, beginning with UTSA at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
After Saturday's contest against the Roadrunners (12-8), which features a free instructional Cub Tennis clinic for kids at noon, the Bears (12-11) will return to action on Sunday for a 4 p.m. first serve against New Mexico State (10-10).
Baylor will conclude its home schedule with SMU (10-7) on Monday at 6 p.m. Prior to the match, the Bears will celebrate head coach Joey Scrivano's 500th-career win at Kansas State on March 19. Additionally, the program's two seniors, Isabella Harvison and Paula Barañano, will be recognized for their success with the Bears.
In the latest ITA rankings released on Tuesday, Baylor checked in at No. 42, while Alina Shcherbinina jumped 14 spots in the individual rankings, sitting at No. 90 overall. Harvison, who has been listed in the rankings every week since February 21, enters this weekend at No. 95.
Shcherbinina, Harvison and Anita Sahdiieva have all accumulated at least 10 singles victories this season, as Shcherbinina leads the way with 14 total and a team-best six Big 12 wins. In doubles action, Harvison and Sahdiieva have a team-leading five wins, while the tandem of Barañano and Daniella Dimitrov have four victories at the No. 1 position.
