WACO, Texas – Baylor women's basketball is excited to welcome back a familiar voice to the radio team in 2023-24, as longtime analyst Lori Fogleman has decided to step back into the scene and call games alongside Derek Smith.
"I'm excited to join Derek Smith and return to the radio broadcast for Baylor women's basketball," Fogleman said. "I was so fortunate to spend 20 seasons on the radio team with Rick May, and it was a time filled with extraordinary memories and incredible friendships. I love Baylor women's basketball and it has been an absolute joy being in the stands as a fan, but this opportunity to return to the broadcast fits this unique time in my life. I'm a big fan of Coach Nicki (Collen), her coaches and staff, the team, of course, and Derek, and I'm thrilled to step back into this role with a very special program and Baylor."
Fogleman has been with Baylor University for over 25 years, first as director of media relations before transitioning into the role as Assistant Vice President of Media and Public Relations in June 2013. In her time on-air, Fogleman worked alongside May for a tenure that included the 2005 and 2012 national championships, the 2010 Final Four and a four-year run of Elite Eight berths (2014-17).
Fogleman, who had worked for KWTX radio and television for the previous decade, joined May on the broadcast after she came to Baylor in May 1998 in the university marketing and communications division. At Baylor, she reunited with her former KWTX colleague John Morris to co-host the weekly "Inside Baylor Sports" television program from 2000-2014. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin, Fogleman earned her bachelor's degree in radio and TV journalism.
Her husband, Richard, served on the women's and men's basketball stat crew from 2000-2019, before passing away from cancer in 2020. Their daughter, Emilie, was a student worker for four years with Baylor Athletics Communications until her graduation in 2015.
