Jones returns to Big 12 Conference after playing 34 games with Louisville
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's basketball head coach Nicki Collen announced the addition of Louisville and Arizona transfer Skylar Jones to the program on Saturday.
"Skylar is an elite athlete who can impact the game at both ends," Collen said. "Her length and anticipation make her a menace on the defensive end, while her ability to attack the rim to score or draw fouls gives our offense an added dimension. Skylar has the versatility to play multiple positions and the speed to elevate our transition game. We are excited to welcome Skylar and her family to the Baylor Family for her final year of college."
Jones appeared in 34 games with Louisville during the 2025-26 season, averaging 8.4 points per game while totaling 100 rebounds and 51 steals, the second-most on the team. She scored a season-high 21 points in the Cardinals' six-point win over Colorado in the third game of the year, shooting 8-of-15 from the field with one 3-pointer and going 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Jones recorded 15 double-digit scoring performances, including two 20-point outings.
She helped Louisville to a second-place finish in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season standings with a 15-3 league record. In conference play, the 6-foot guard averaged 7.4 points per game, while finishing the season as the Cardinals' leader in made free throws with 57 on 77 attempts for a 74% clip.
Prior to Louisville, Jones spent two seasons at Arizona, competing in both the Pac-12 and Big 12 conferences. She appeared in 64 games for the Wildcats and made 40 starts.
During her sophomore season, Jones averaged 10.7 points per game, scoring in double figures in 18 contests, including a career-high 30-point performance against TCU in Tucson. She shot 9-of-11 from the field in that game, connecting on all four of her 3-point attempts and adding eight free throws.
Jones ranked third on the Arizona roster in scoring during the 2024-25 season with 341 points, becoming one of three Wildcats to surpass 300 on the year. She led the team from beyond the arc in conference play, shooting 41.9%, and finished the season with a team-high 93 free-throw attempts while ranking second with 71 makes. On the defensive end, Jones paced the Wildcats with 52 steals, leading the team in that category in 10 games.

As a freshman, Jones earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention honors after averaging 7.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. Her top performance came in the NCAA Tournament against Syracuse, where she recorded 24 points, making eight shots from the field and eight from the free-throw line. Jones started each of the final 15 games of her freshman campaign and led Arizona in field-goal percentage during conference play at 51.1%.
