The England native brings a decorated junior career to Waco
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's golf bolstered its 2025-26 roster with the signing of Amelia Wan on Wednesday morning.
Wan has experience playing in some of the most prestigious junior events around the world, and Baylor head coach Jay Goble looks forward to adding a player of her caliber to his roster next season.
"We are beyond excited to have Amelia join us," he said. "She brings a wealth of talent and can be a huge asset to this program moving forward. We have had a long history of successful players from England, including Rosie Belsham, Hayley Davis, Lauren Taylor, and Hannah Burke. We firmly believe Amelia will continue that trend, so we are looking forward to getting her on campus."
Coming off a win last month at the SSGT Strokeplay Championship in England, the newest BU signee recorded three top 10s and eight top 25s in 13 events this year. Additionally, she finished fifth in the European Nations Cup and ninth at the Internationaux de France U21 this spring.
In addition to Wan's individual success, she was also a mainstay in European junior team competitions helping England win the Girls Home Internationals and the European Girls' Team Championship earlier this summer.
Committed to Baylor since November of 2023, the Newark, England, native highlighted her 2023 season with a tie for seventh in an 80-player field at the English Girls' Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship. Wan also helped England to a win over Spain in a team match at Worplesdon Golf Club in May.
The four-time Nottingham Girls U18 County Champion also won the 2020 North of England U14 Girls Championship and competed for the Elite England Girls squad in 2021.
