
VB’s McGhee Chosen as AVCA First Team All-Region

Senior Bear to represent in the Southwest Region
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Baylor volleyball's Elise McGhee was named AVCA First Team All-Southwest Region, the organization announced Tuesday.
McGhee, an outside hitter, finished her season with 414 kills with a .232 hitting percentage and averaging 3.70 kills per set. She served up 44 aces at a .742 serving percentage and dug 189 balls. On the block, she had 54 overall including five solo. McGhee helped her squad finish with a 23-8 record including 14-4 in conference play, and an impressive 17-4 record at home in Waco. The senior contributed to Baylor's overall .255 hit percentage and collected 487.5 points on the year.
This season, McGhee was named Preseason All-Big 12, First Team All-Big 12, All-Tournament for the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge, and earned one Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor.
McGhee led the team in kills overall for the season and in 20 different matches, including a streak of 12 matches in a row. She also led the team in aces on the year, including 12 matches.
The San Antonio native solidified herself as one of the most prolific seniors in the Ryan McGuyre era at Baylor, coming in second for senior kills and attempts, first in aces and aces per set, third in kills per set, and fifth in attack percentage.
The four-year player completed her Baylor career with 1,126 kills at 3.17 kills per set with a .232 hitting percentage. She finished with 77 aces overall, all coming in her final two seasons at 0.22 aces per set. McGhee finishes with 360 digs and 169 blocks, along with 1,298 points.
The Big 12 Conference had 22 All-Region honorees, including 15 named first team, across the different AVCA regions.
