EQ’s Madison Mitchell Earns Rider of the Month Honor

Mitchell garners monthly praise after standout performance against No.1 TCU

WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat senior Madison Mitchell has been named NCEA Flat Rider of the Month for March, as announced Wednesday afternoon.

Mitchell picked up honors in Flat after leading the Bears to a 3-2 event win over No. 1 TCU. The senior out of Clarkston, Mich. posted a meet-high 94 on her way to a Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) nod. Mitchell's 94-ride aboard Teddy marks her third 90+ Flat score of the season.

This is Mitchell's first-career NCEA monthly accolade and second monthly award.

Baylor finished its 2023-2024 campaign with a 2-10 record, including a 1-5 mark in conference play, and returns to action at the Big 12 Equestrian Championship, March 29-30, at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.
