EUGENE, Ore. – Baylor track and field is slated to begin the 2024 NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships from historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon Wednesday through Saturday evenings.
Competition for Baylor begins on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. with the men's 4x100-meter relay semifinals. For running competition, the top two from each heat and the next three fastest times advance on to the final rounds held Friday and Saturday. Field events will compete just once, with the men's javelin final on Wednesday beginning at 7:45 p.m. CT, while the Baylor women's field events are both on Thursday with the pole vault beginning at 8 p.m. and the long jump at 9 p.m. CT.
Action on the track will be broadcast each day on
ESPN or ESPN2 and each field event will have its own stream available on

LAST TIME OUT
The Bears competed in Fayetteville, Ark., at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, where 10 entries punched their tickets to Hayward Field for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The women's 4x100 meter relay set a new program record, becoming the first group to record a sub-43-second time.

Alexis Brown and
Michaela Francois tabbed the best time in the west of 42.66 seconds to take the No. 2 national seed.
Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi also broke the 11-year-old meet record in the javelin throw, flinging the implement 270-9 for the No. 1 overall seed to the NCAA Championships.
OH, HOW THEY'VE FALLEN
Of the 10 total entries to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, five set program records throughout the season.
Alexis Brown tabbed a 22-5 at the Big 12 Championships to take the long jump record for the third time this season with a Big 12 Championship,
Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi threw for 271-8 at the African Games to win the javelin title with the record,
Nathaniel Ezekiel improved his 400-meter hurdle mark to a 48-flat at the Big 12 Championships for the title and both 4x100-meter relay squads have thrown down the fastest times ever by a BU squad on the track.
PACKED THE PLANE
BU is taking 10 scoring chances to the NCAA Championships, with seven men's entries and three women's entries. In the men's competition, the sprints have a strong contingent with the 4x100-meter relay of

Laurenz Colbert,
Kamden Jackson and
De'montray Callis, Callis in the 100 and 200 meters, Colbert in the 200 meters,
Nathaniel Ezekiel in the 400-meter hurdles and Jackson,
Demar Francis,
Nicholi Brown and Ezekiel in the 4x400-meter relay. On the women's side that begins on Thursday, field events take the cake with
Molly Haywood in the pole vault and
Alexis Brown in the long jump, while the women's 4x100-meter relay of
Tiriah Kelley,
Kayla Hunt, Brown and
Michaela Francois are the only entry on the track.
HATS OFF, CALLIS!
Junior
De'montray Callis leads the Bears with three qualifying entries to this week's championship meet. In the 100 meters, Callis bolted to a wind-aided 10.01 (w2.5) in the 100-meters for the seventh-overall time in the region with three sub-10 times in his heat. Back in the 200 meters, Callis took fifth at regionals with a 20.27 (w2.1) for second in Heat One. The Houston, Texas, native also qualified in the 4x100-meter relay, who kicks off the meet in Heat Three.
