Bears travel to Houston for only away non-conference match
WACO, Texas – The 23rd-ranked Baylor volleyball team hits the road for its lone away non-conference match, facing Rice on Tuesday in Houston.
BU will play Rice at 6 p.m. CT at Tudor Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.
The Bears (3-0) face the Owls (2-0) after defeating Campbell (0-3) in three sets at the Ferrell Center on Friday. The win capped off a 3-0 weekend for Baylor at the Baylor Classic, sweeping both Abilene Christian and Tulsa on Friday.
Lauren Briseño was named Top Libero/DS of the tournament, leading the field with 34 digs. Jackie Barrett Frazier was named Top Setter after recording 65 assists at 7.22 assists per set. Kendal Murphy was named MVP of the Baylor Classic with a field-high 30 kills and a .460 hitting percentage.
Baylor and Rice have a storied series, with Tuesday's match being the 49th match. The Bears lead the matchup 25-23 with a 12-match winning streak.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Natalie Keck and Randy McIlvoy on the call. Live stats are available via Rice's website, and full stats and recap will be posted to BaylorBears.com at the conclusion of the match.
Baylor will return to Ferrell on Friday as they host the fourth iteration of the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge with Minnesota, TCU and Wisconsin.
